SLS and the Artemis I Mission….Successful First Flight!
After more than 10 years of development, the Space Launch System rocket and Orion Crew Capsule, have been integrated, prepped for launch, and rolled out to the launchpad for an August 29 launch. But these programs are among NASA’s most expensive and challenged efforts. Together with supporting ground systems, they collectively cost at least $30 billion–about $5 billion more planned–and the first launch is about 4 years late. Continue reading

NASA Struggling with Construction of Second Artemis Mobile Launcher
NASA’s IG reports that costs have doubled for construction of its second mobile launcher for Artemis missions and delivery has slipped at least 2.5 years. While contractor was doing poorly, it still received award fees for its performance. Continue reading
